Why We Started Kaya: From Education to Action

Like many of you, we wanted to live a more sustainable life. But we also knew that greenwashing—misleading claims about sustainability—was everywhere, making it hard to know which choices actually make a difference.

We realized something: people don’t need another marketplace full of random “eco” products. They need a trusted space where they can find sustainable essentials, practical advice, and a community that helps each other make simple, meaningful changes.

That’s why we created Kaya Sustainable Marketplace—a space where education, sustainability, and community come together.

Meet the Founders

👩‍🏫 Milan: A former educator and project manager who has always been passionate about helping people learn. Now, she’s bringing that same passion to sustainability—helping others integrate real, everyday sustainability into their lives without the stress.

🌍 Kate: With years of experience in education and sustainability, Kate saw firsthand how difficult it was to navigate the world of green products. Friends, family, and even strangers kept asking her how to make easy, low-waste swaps—so she decided to help.

Together, we built Kaya Sustainable Marketplace—not just as a place to shop, but as a space to learn, share, and grow together.
